Fredericton Field House
Feasibility Study, Fredericton, NB
The City of Fredericton Fieldhouse Feasibility Study, led by Architecture49 with Nustadia Recreation Inc. as the operational and business consultant and WSP providing engineering support, assessed the need, design, and operational framework for a new multi-court fieldhouse facility. The study evaluated community demand, site options, and financial models to address the city’s lack of municipally owned indoor recreation space. Through extensive engagement and comparative analysis, the project identified the New Brunswick Exhibition Grounds (NBEX) as the preferred site and proposed a four-court, multi-purpose fieldhouse designed to support year-round sport, recreation, and event programming. The plan provides Fredericton with a sustainable, inclusive, and flexible recreation infrastructure strategy aligned with its long-term growth objective.
