Community Engagement

Community Engagement at
Nustadia Recreation
At Nustadia, we believe recreation facilities are more than places to play—they’re vital community hubs that foster connection, inclusion, and well-being. We’re committed to ensuring every facility reflects the values and needs of the people it serves through meaningful engagement and responsible operations.
1. Inclusive and Transparent Development
From the start of every project, we invite public input through surveys, open houses, and stakeholder meetings. This collaboration shapes design, amenities, and programming, and ensures user fees remain fair and accessible to all.
2. Neighbourhood-Focused Operations
We work with residents, community groups, and municipalities to develop policies that minimize local impacts—addressing traffic, noise, lighting, and parking—to be respectful and responsible neighbours.
3. Equitable Access for All
Our Community Access Policies reduce barriers for equity-deserving and underserved groups, ensuring fair scheduling and prioritizing youth, seniors, and grassroots organizations.
4. Investing in Youth
Through our Annual Golf Tournament and Curling Bonspiel, we’ve raised over $250,000 to support youth facing financial or systemic barriers—helping every child find their place in recreation.
5. Championing Community Health
In partnership with the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Nustadia facilities have raised more than $12 million through tournaments and wellness events, supporting research and advocacy for healthier communities.
