Edward M. Pavao

General Manager, Hamilton Mohawk 4-Ice Centre

Over 26 years of experience in recreation facility management and operations. Prior to joining NRI, he held the position of District Recreation Facilities Superintendent with the City of Hamilton. He has been an active member of the Ontario Recreation Facilities Association (ORFA) for the past 15 years - currently the Vice President of this organization; the Chairman of the Professional Development Committee and the past Chairman of the Arena Development Committee. He also has experience instructing a Recreation Facilities Management Program at Niagara Community College, and also has instructed the Ice Maintenance and Equipment Operations Program for the ORFA. Other professional development achievements include:

• Registered Recreation Facilities Administration - Certificate (ORFA)
• Certified Ice Technician (ORFA)

• Aquatic Facility Operator Certificate (National Spa and Pool Institute of Canada)
• Business Studies Certificate (Mohawk College)
• Supervisory Studies Program (Mohawk College)

Mr. Pavao has a Bachelor of Art Degree from Ryerson University, an Honours Diploma on Arena Management from Humber College and a Diploma in Recreation and Leisure Studies from Mohawk College.
